There are many ways parents can help their teens become safer drivers. The Washington Teen Driving Task Force prepared a Powerpoint Presentation titled, "Young Drivers II: Research and Solutions" that provides indepth information to help parents make a real impact on their teens's lives.

Several key items noted in the presentation include:

bluearrow (1K)Motor vehicle crashes continue to remain the #1 cause of death among teens in Washington.
bluearrow (1K)So far in 2009, traffic crashes have taken the lives of 33 teens in Washington State.
bluearrow (1K)In 2008, motor vehicle crashes in Washington were responsible for 37 deaths and 258 serious injuries to teens ages 16-19.
bluearrow (1K)In 2007, 132 teens in Washington State, from ages 15 through 19, died in motor vehicle crashes.
